Add-in
From ZekrWiki
Contents |
Overview
There are some add-ins available as separate packages for the Zekr project on resource page. These add-ins vary from Quran translations to recitation.
You can add add-ons either for me-only or all users. If you add them as me-only, they are not visible to other people on the computer (with different accounts). In this case add-ons are copied to your home directory (which everyone naturally has write access to). You should be administrator or have write access to Zekr installation directory in to install add-ons for all users, otherwise you may prompt with Permission denied errors.
Resources
Translation
Here is an step-by-step tutorial on how to add a new translation to Zekr.
Download a *.trans.zip from resources page and add it via: Tools > Add > Translation.
Now you can find the new translation under View > Translation menu.
If your translation is not authentic (downloaded and packaged by the official project website), you are prompted with a warning message telling you about the translation authenticity.
Theme
Download *.zip from resource page and add it via: Tools > Add > Theme.
Restart Zekr and you should be able to switch to the new theme through Tools > Options > View (tab) > Theme combo box.
Recitation
If you want to install Minshawi offline recitation, go directly to instructions here; for the rest, click here.
There are two types of recitations: online and offline. The difference is that you should have all audio files locally on your computer in order to listen to offline recitations, while to listen to online recitations, you should be connected to the Internet.
There are two steps to add recitation file to Zekr. The first is only needed for offline recitations, and the second is mandatory for both online and offline recitations.
Step 1 (offline only)
Download a zipped archive of all the recitations audio files (example: minshawi.zip). Unpack the archive in [zekr installation directory]/res/audio/[recitation ID]. In windows (2k, XP) using minshawi.zip, this can be realized as:
C:\Program Files\Zekr\res\audio\minshawi
and in Linux:
/usr/share/zekr/res/audio/minshawi
Note that audio files should be exactly unpacked to [recitation ID] folder, so after unpacking, you should have all the MP3s under minshawi folder, something like this in Windows (2k, XP):
C:\Documents and Settings\Zekr\res\audio\minshawi\*.mp3
Step 2
Download corresponding recitation file (a .propertis file format) from resource page (example: minshawi-online), and add it to Zekr through Tools > Add > Recitation.
After restarting you should be able to select the new recitation through Audio > Recitation menu.
