Definition

Indexing - in simple words - is the process of storing words and location they occur, to make reverse word lookup faster (finding locations where a word is used).

Zekr uses the leading Apache full-text search library, Lucene, for indexing Quran text. All the Quran text content and it's location (sura-aya) is stored in Lucene binary indices.

Zekr uses Lucene indices for its advanced search.
