Overview
Zekr supports a rich set of layouts for best usage of the software for studying Quran. Layouts it has are (0.6.0beta1+):
- Quran layout: displays only Quran text in the Quran form.
- Translation layout: displays only selected translation in the Quran form.
- Mixed layout: displays Quran text and selected translation together (aya-by-aya) in a single browser
- Separate layout: displays Quran and translation in different browsers, horizontally separated.
- Multi-translation layout (AKA Custom Mixed layout): displays any number of selected translations (through View > "Configure Custom Translations" form), line-by-line (horizontal) or side-by-side (vertical).
Quran (only)
Simply displays Quran text only in the main form.
Translation (only)
Displays selected (through View>Translations) translation only in the main form. When either of Quran or Translation layout is selected, you can choose to see Quran/Translation text in a whole block or line-by-line style.
Separate
Displays Quran text and selected translation separate from each other. Main view form is split horizontally into two parts, Quran text is shown at top and translation is shown at bottom.
Mixed
Displays Quran text and (selected) translation text (like Separate layout), in a mixed style; That is, displays a Quran aya, its translation after that, the next aya, its translation, and so on.
With mixed layout, you have one AND ONLY one translation.
Multi-translation
In this layout (which used to be called Custom mixed layout before 0.6.0beta2), you are free to use any number of translations (customizing them through View > Configure Custom Translations). You can also use Zero number of translation there.
More, in Multi-translation layout, you can see translations arranged either vertically (side-by-side) or horizontally (line-by-line), through the property trans_showMultipleSideBySide (set here: Tools > Options > View).
